Bloom at Your Own Depth
After the Set_001 (Week of 11.16.2025)
My heart is full. Like, overflowing-full.
I’m literally walking around my kitchen right now, cleaning up after filming an episode of Let Em’ Cook — a segment off my Moving Mad series where DJs, chefs, foodies, creatives, and homebodies slide through, cook their comfort meal, spin a set, and we talk life, culture, creativity, and whatever we’re processing in real time.
I’ve got my newest collection of tracks from yesterday playing in the background while I wipe down the counters and brainstorm new segments for Moving Mad. And I just… paused. Like damn. I’m actually proud. I’m actually grateful. I’m actually feeling this era of my life instead of running from it.
Today’s guest dropped a gem about knowing your role in life — being a witness, a timestamp, a historian of people — and it lit something up in me. I realized:
I’m not just a witness. I’m a charge.
I energize people. I activate them. That’s why even in my lowest seasons I kept going — because the exchange itself fuels me. Caring for people doesn’t drain me, it literally recharges me. And I love that my presence softens folks, opens them up. I love being that safe space.
And writing these reflections… this is how I recharge. Not from pain like before, but from noticing joy. Documenting these beautiful moments after each shoot keeps me anchored in my why.
But here’s the new part of the story:
Me centering music right now is intentional.
Not random. Not “oh yeah I guess I DJ too.”
It’s because that’s where I feel the most me. The most confident. The most seen. The most honest. And it makes sense that the most aligned people I’ve met lately have shown up in music spaces — because that’s where I’m actually showing up as myself.
Music lets my ego grow in a healthy way because I know I’m good. Not entitled good. But “I have something to offer” good — both tangible and intangible.
My music is how I help people trust love again.
It’s the portal. It’s the through line. And every chance I get, I’m finding a way to plug that in — not for clout but because that’s where my heart speaks the loudest.
Six months ago I wrote down three goals with zero clue how or when they’d happen:
• launch a podcast
• shoot a TV show
• become a DJ/Pop-Star producer
I wasn’t obsessing over timelines. I just focused my energy. And somehow all three are in production now. That’s wild.
Music has always been the quiet finale, the thing I didn’t force. I let my feminine energy lead there. I nurture, observe, soften. And being around musicians feels like being home because we’re all giving and receiving at the same time — same frequency, same portal.
But it’s also the thing that calls me to be seen, and honestly? I’ve been hiding. Shadows are comfortable. Mystique is easy.
But at some point “moving in silence” becomes “avoiding the leap.”
If I could make these three projects happen under pressure, in six months, in chaos, then imagine what happens when I actually prioritize music. Actually give myself a real shot.
Actually go all in.
My guest reminded me: once the vision is clear, the floodgates open. Doors you didn’t even know existed appear. Your only job is to walk through them with integrity.
And now I know where I’m meant to stand — in music, charging people up, not triggering them, not performing from pain. When I stay on that frequency, everything around me gets more beautiful, more alive, more aligned.
Tonight reminded me how far I’ve come. I do so much — three projects, daily content, gigs, new people, life obligations — and I rarely stop to acknowledge myself.
And honestly, I realized my biggest fear was always not being able to finish things. Turns out that wasn’t about capacity; it was about scarcity.
My capacity has always been there — I just needed focus, not frenzy.
Now that I’ve proven to myself what I can hold, I can relax into it. I can enjoy it. I can document it as it unfolds instead of hustling through it.
So yeah. Let’s see where this goes. My gut says it’s about to get groovy.
And to tonight’s guest — thank you.
Name redacted until the episode drops (unless I get messy and leak it lol). I’m just excited that I finally feel like I’m in the rooms I’m meant to be in. And that I don’t have to force anything to be real.
Here’s to moving mad because it’s fun.
Let’s see where this path takes us.
I’m ready this time.
‘til next time,
Minhaj
🎧 SONG OF THE WEEK: Come Stay the Night
🎛 MIX #004 — November 15, 2024: Stability, Hard Work, Foundation
This mix originally dropped as a love letter to mothers — the real architects who build foundations quietly, consistently, without applause. Back then, I made it to honor the people who hold worlds together while still trying to find their own. And now, in this moment, that message is looping back to me.
Because what I’m learning is that when we build from love rather than lack, we become the foundation too — for ourselves, for others, for the dreams we’re finally ready to carry. And this whole post is really just me realizing I’m finally mothering my own vision with that same devotion.
Not hustling from wounds.
Cultivating from abundance.
Building like someone who trusts they deserve what they’re building.
Melody Phrase of the Week:
“The bow on the present is just the shift in perspective.”
Sometimes the gift doesn’t change — we just finally see it for what it is <3
