Girl, We Lost the Plot
Time to Freestyle
A lot of us know the feeling—one day, you wake up and realize the life you’ve been building just doesn’t fit anymore. It’s like you’ve been following a script that used to make sense, but now, the lines feel off. Maybe the job you once thought was your dream doesn’t hit the same. Maybe the city that felt so alive now feels too noisy. Or the goals you swore were non-negotiable just don’t light you up anymore. It’s unsettling, especially when you’ve spent so much time and energy trying to get things “right.” But the truth is, you’re not broken, and you didn’t mess anything up. This is just part of the shift we’re all going through—individually and collectively.
The world is changing fast, and it’s hard to predict what the future will even look like. We’re realizing that the old ways of planning—“get this job, hit that milestone, buy this, achieve that”—aren’t working anymore. And if you’re like me, trying to cling to the life you had mapped out can feel exhausting, like you’re playing catch-up in a game you didn’t even want to sign up for. When we try to force things to stay the same, we get stuck, feeling out of tune with the way life is moving around us.
If you’re paying attention—really paying attention—you’ll notice that this shift isn’t just about external things like jobs, relationships, or routines. It’s about us realizing that we’re more than what we thought we were. The version of ourselves we were building for—the one tied to career ladders, checklists, and social expectations—was just a fraction of who we really are. We’re starting to understand that we’re multidimensional beings. And when you wake up to that, the life you’ve designed to fit a smaller version of yourself? It’s not going to cut it anymore.
For some of us, that realization hits fast and hard. One day, you’re sitting at your desk and you suddenly know, I can’t do this anymore. Maybe you start looking at flights to a new city or fantasize about quitting your job and pursuing that wild idea you’ve always pushed to the back of your mind. For others, the shift is slower. It starts with little questions: What do I actually want? What makes me feel alive? You let yourself dream again, maybe for the first time in years. You start to wonder if the life you’re living is aligned with who you’re becoming—and if not, what it would take to change it.
And let’s be real: that kind of questioning can be scary. Shifting your life isn’t always smooth, especially when we’re taught that success comes from having everything figured out. But here’s the thing: you’re not supposed to have it all figured out. Growth isn’t linear, and the discomfort you feel is part of the process. Change, whether it happens overnight or bit by bit, is just life’s way of nudging you toward a version of yourself that’s more aligned, more whole, and more real.
The good news? You’re not alone in this. We’re all feeling it—this collective shift. And the magic happens when you realize that you don’t have to navigate it alone. Talking to people about what you’re going through, sharing your fears, your dreams, your doubts—that’s where faith starts to grow. We build faith not in isolation but in community, in conversations where someone says exactly what you needed to hear, even if you didn’t know you needed it.
This process takes trust—trust in yourself, in the people around you, and in the unknown. And that’s tough, especially when we’ve been taught to rely on plans and control. But the shift we’re experiencing is asking us to let go of that control. It’s inviting us to believe that even if the road looks different than we imagined, it’s still leading us exactly where we’re meant to be.
So, if you’re feeling like your life no longer fits, that’s okay. It’s not a sign that you’ve failed. It’s a sign that you’re growing. Take a deep breath. Let yourself dream again. Start asking the real questions. Trust that even in the mess, you’re being guided toward the life that’s meant for you—the one that fits who you are now, not who you used to be.
And if that means tearing up your old plans? Do it. If that means moving slow for a while? That’s okay too. Trust the shifts, and know that you’re not alone. We’re all figuring this out together.
Now…time for some fun!!!
