Okay, But What Was the Reason??
The Year of Becoming
FELT. Heard & Seen
On the surface, this year felt like a flatline.
Like we were collectively put through the ringer only to come out the other side holding…not much. Externally, it might seem like not a lot has changed.
You’re still not where you want to be.
You don’t have the things you thought you’d have.
You might even feel like you’re just as confused now as you were in January.
But when I feel this way, I remind myself of this: there’s always a point to what we experience, even if it’s not immediately clear.
For me, this year wasn’t about doing so much as it was about becoming.
What This Year Taught Me
This year showed me all the potential ideas I could pursue and also exactly what’s been getting in my way. It was a mirror, reflecting all the ways I’ve been limiting myself—not just in what I fight for, but in how I fight for it.
For me, the fight wasn’t about external wins.
It was about craving my own path. Doing things my way. And along the way, people, places, and situations revealed where I was being drained, where I was out of balance, and, most importantly, the need to build something sustainable.
This year was a slow burn. A stripping away of the old. A reminder that Rome wasn’t built in a day. And while it may seem like not much got done, let’s pause and ask:
How do you feel about yourself right now?
Think back to January—you. How much has your mind expanded as to what’s possible?
The Hidden Blessing
When I look back, this year gave me two priceless gifts:
Expansion of thought. I explored avenues I never could have fathomed before. My mind stretched in ways I didn’t know were possible, showing me worlds beyond my old limits.
Clarity on what blocks me. I got serious about what was slowing me down and holding me back.
These aren’t just wins—they’re foundational. They’re the building blocks of something greater. And while I still don’t know exactly where I’m going, I know where I’m not going.
Charting Your Own Path
Right now, your internal world is more organized than it was, isn’t it? You have a baseline for what balance feels like. You know what satisfies you. And even if the path ahead is foggy, you’ve been walking it all along.
So, take a moment:
Reflect on how your mind has expanded. Think of the ideas and possibilities you’ve explored this year.
Write down your aspirations. Even if they seem silly or unrealistic, let them flow. Your mind was capable of dreaming them up—honor that.
The Sweet Spot of Optimism
Here’s what I want you to know: Life is meant to be your adventure. To pursue life from your own internal baseline. To chart your own path. To build systems and guide rails that reflect your aspirations, your inner world, and the care you deserve.
And most importantly, to hold gratitude—for each day, for each small step, for each moment when you thought you’d never make it out, only to realize it was easier than you expected.
Prompt for You
Reflect on how much your mind has expanded this year.
What new aspirations or dreams have emerged?
Even if they seem wild or out of reach, write them down.
The First Step in the Fog
Take the first step—even if it’s foggy. Even if you’re unsure where it leads. You’ve been doing it all along, and you’re more capable than you give yourself credit for.
And each time a moment of brilliance strikes you, write it down. I promise, when you look back, you’ll be amazed at how expansive and beautiful your mind truly is.
You’re capable of so much more than you know. Now, go dream those ideas into reality. 🌟
til’ next time,
